In union there is strength

We believe that Indian guru Mata Amritanandamayi known as the “Hugging Saint” is Embezzling The World. Help us to spread the truth about her.

The Amma Empire

Jacques Albohair, aka Sarvatma / Ganga, who belonged to the initial inner circle of disciples in the early eighties, was Amma's first European representative and translator. His recent publication "The Amma Empire" provides a captivating insider testimony of his fourteen years as an early disciple and of the development of the organisation from the simple "family business" to the "global empire" it has become today.

Covid-19 - Amma needs our help

This year 2020 is very special. The world has been hit by a pandemic. Extreme political decisions have been made to fight its progression. We all know about the famous Covid-19 lockdown that has changed so many lives worldwide. As Mata Amritanandamayi is overwhelmed with compassion, she had to play her part too. But apparently things unfolded in a strange way.

Speech at RSS ABPS-2017

When we say that Mata Amritanandamayi has strong ties with the Hindu nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) her devotees argue that we are lying. They say that Amma welcomes everyone in her Ashram, she is not closer to any specific political party. If it is so then can they explain why she has made a speech at an RSS conference?

Professor Tamsin Bradley's point of view

Mata Amritanandamayi is proud to display her "Scientific Hall of Fame". Indeed many Indian and foreign researchers are lauding her international efforts in improving the world. But some of them have a different point of view and she won't ever mention them.

Better than AIMS

Mata Amritanandamayi has built the Amrita Institute of Medical Science (AIMS) out of compassion for poor people who couldn't afford for super-specialty health care. Good news, she is planning to build one more hospital.

Circling down the drain?

Mata Amritanandamayi is always looking forward to help in any way. In a great action of compassion she has decided to give several millions of dollars to the Indian governement. What for?

Free healthcare at AIMS for the poor?

Embracing The World claims that AIMS offers free healthcare for poor people. But there is something wrong with the numbers.

Children trade?

The charities related to adults are broadly advertised but Amma scarcely talks in detail about the way she takes care of the children. Her organization runs an orphanage. What good is she doing to the world thanks to that? We don't know much about it so we can only rely on the word of mouth from bloggers and online commenters.

1 Rupee = 1 Dollar

Embracing The World/Mata Amritanandamayi Math likes to emphasize on all the money spent to help the people in need. We have noticed that the significant means mainly come from powerfull Western partners. Indeed, Amma gives millions of dollars but it is often on behalf of others NGOs, like Healthcare Charities, Inc for instance. Today we would like to introduce a new financial partner to our readers. It is called Direct Relief.

Natural disasters are dramatic events, causing losses at every level. Then comes the relief effort, which is so called because that is precisely what it is supposed to provide : relief. But sometimes it bring something else along.

FCRA 2013 - 2014 = 0.69!

Usually the New Year is the moment when we make good resolutions and promise to do our best to respect our decision. These kind of moments can be life changing. When we saw the new FCRA for 2013-2014, we thought that such miracle had happened in Embracing The World.

Shadows on the nice picture

Our favorite Thugging Saint has finally met Pope Francis. Well, in fact she was just invited along with several other religious leaders from the whole world to sign a vital application form, proving that they are good people who are deeply concerned with the sufferings which plague our societies.

Illegal donation

A strange Indian campaign raised our attention recently. It is called the "Anti Donation Campaign". What is it? Are Indian citizens fed up with charities?

Is there a puppeteer?

We all know that Amma the mother of millions rushed to help the tsunami victims in 2004. She pledged what? 18? 36? Maybe 43? Nevermind. She pledged plenty of millions of dollars to feed people, rebuild houses, grant healthcares... We feel like exclaiming "How Compassionate"! Then we have recently found some pieces of information that make us want to also shout "Such hypocrisy"!

Fanciful FCRA

Some of our posts deal with the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). Each year Indian NGOs must declare to the government the funds that they got from foreign countries. Being strongly connected to Western countries, the M.A. Math cannot escape the rule. The accounts given by Amritapuri are available online.
Some devotees of the "Thugging Saint" pretend that we are misunderstanding the numbers, so let's take a closer look at them.

Tsunami race winner

In face of criticism, Amritanandamayi's devotees often quote the long list of her charities to prove that her organisation is clean and pure. The tsunami relief effort is one of the most important achievement.
