How to explain this statement made in Haindava Keralam website, in a post unambiguously entitled The soul of India rests with Hindutva ?
"To spread our culture far and wide, we must also join hands with other spiritual organisations, such as the Sri Ramakrishna Mission, Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt, Art of living foundation etc. These Ashrams are also bringing out periodicals to disseminate our culture"We don't see any reference to universal love in this quote. It doesn't even sound spiritual. It looks more like sound and solid nationalist politics. It says that her ashram actively spreads political propanganda. Maybe Amma is not aware that her image is being used to fulfill an imperialistic agenda. The following quotes can help us to figure out what she thinks about her supporters point of view.
Indeed, following the turbulences raised by the publication of Holy Hell by Gail Tredwell, Hindutva organizations were first in line to defend Amma. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is one of them. Their unequivocal motto is : "For Establishment of the Hindu Rashtra". A few representatives met her to comfort her :
"We believe that under the guidance of Saints like Her, one day ‘Hindu Nation’ will be established"Therefore she knows. She is perfectly aware that Hindutva organizations are counting on her to achieve their political agenda. Not only does she have awareness, she also takes pride in achieving her mission on a global scale on her own official website :
"If Bharat (India) dies, the world will die. But Bharat won’t die, it will give peace and love to the entire world. Amma takes the message of Bharat to the whole world ... Bharat Mata is sitting here in the form of Amma, guiding the whole world"To crown it all she has inaugurated the 3-day congress organised by RSS on Saturday April 04th 2015. Many major RSS executives were next to her on stage, as she was sitting on a throne-like wide silver armchair. As images are more meaningful than words, here is the inaugural ceremony, recorded and broadcast by Amrita TV.
If Amma herself publicly acknowledges her strong ties with RSS then why are her devotees still gripping on denial? Do they want to prove their infallible guru wrong? What to think about the Indian intellectuals who repeat over and over again that she is a mere puppet in the hands of vested interests? It is so disturbing to see the hair of Swami Amritaswarupananda, aka Balu, moving behind the "silver throne".
